Growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Alexa Rauscher B.Sc., N.D, dreamed about becoming a medical doctor. However, while attending university, Dr. Rauscher experienced a life altering event which changed the course of her studies. She was in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in soft tissue damage. After several failed treatment attempts, Dr. Rauscher turned to alternative treatment options. It was during this time that Dr. Rauscher found her passion- Naturopathic Medicine.
After completing a Bachelor of Science from the University of Winnipeg, Dr. Rauscher moved to Vancouver, BC to pursue Naturopathic Medicine at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM). While attending BINM, Dr. Rauscher traveled to Nicaragua, where she volunteered on the island of Ometepe. Dr. Rauscher embedded herself in the life and culture of Nicaraguan people, living with a local family and volunteering at the island’s clinics and hospitals. It was during this volunteer experience that Dr. Rauscher learned how valuable her training as a Naturopathic physician was in caring for people with different health conditions.
Dr. Rauscher focuses her practice on nutrition and supplements, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, lifestyle coaching, and BIE/Allergy treatments. Dr. Rauscher has additional training in injection therapy, intravenous nutritional therapy, neural therapy and drainage therapy. Her interests are in pediatric health, women’s health, mental and emotional lifestyle counseling, and digestive disorders.
