orthotics

What are Orthotics?

Custom made orthotics are medical devices that support and gently reposition structures in your feet to function in a more efficient and pain free manner. Unlike over the counter shoe inserts, custom orthotics are built from molds of your feet to meet your unique needs.

Who should use an Orthotic?
Perfect feet are very rare, almost anyone can benefit from wearing orthotics. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort in your feet, ankles, knees, hips, or lower back, the problem may be the improper functioning of your feet. Your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body and even a slight abnormality can have major consequences on joints and muscles higher up in the body.

How is an Orthotic Made?
Custom tailored orthotics are done by taking an imprint of your feet using a foam casting box. The casting box is then sent to a lab along with a gait analysis (walking biomechanics) report and other related medical history. The orthotics are then sent back to our centre within a week to two weeks.
