Allergy Treatment (BIE)

What is BIE?
Bioelectric Intolerance Eliminate is a safe, non-invasive method to assess and treat allergies, intolerances and sensitivities. Allergy symptoms are eliminated quickly and painlessly for people of all ages.

How does BIE work?
A simple way to explain it is the administration of an electric frequency of specific allergens; similar to the administration of the specific allergen in allergy shots. Needles are not used. A probe which carries the frequency of the allergens to be treated is placed on specific acupuncture points that reprogram the immune system. The body no longer sees these allergens as a foreign invader. The original reaction of the cells was disruptive and hinders their function. The result from treatment corrects the cells? response and eliminates the allergic response – for example, the release of histamine.

Does BIE have any side effects?
It is rare, though some patients may experience a healing crisis or a short period of time where symptoms get worse before improving. The body is readjusting and detoxifying which can cause this aggravation. To a lesser degree some patients may feel a little fatigue, extra thirst or increased urination for up to two days after a treatment.

How many BIE treatments are required?
One BIE treatment can address several allergens at the same time. Most allergens are treated just one time for complete results. The number of visits depend on the category of allergens we are treating (e.g.. food, pollens, heavy metals) and how many allergens the patient has.

Will I notice results right away? How long does the effect last?
Most patients will notice results immediately – usually within 24 hours. Once an allergen/sensitivity is treated it does not require any more treatments. However, if something dramatic has changed – illness, high stress, surgery; events that stress the body's functions and organs; some allergy reactions may return. These circumstances are also addressed during your session to mitigate and to treat if necessary.

Does BIE treat conditions other then allergies and sensitivities?
Because BIE reprograms a cell's response to its environment, BIE's application is far-reaching. Hormonal imbalances such as hot flashes, PMS; sugar metabolism – hypoglycemia/diabetes; fat metabolism, thyroid imbalances are just a few issues which can be approached with BIE. In addition, our clinic will issue lab requisitions for various testing including standard blood cell counts, triglycerides, fasting blood sugar, thyroid hormones, hormonal saliva panels, etc. when necessary to accurately assess the patient's health.

How do I know if I have an allergy or sensitivity?
It is often quite difficult to know if the symptoms you are experiencing are allergic reactions. There is a long list of symptoms that can be a result of eating a food, exposure to pollen, or a chemical. The list goes beyond itchy eyes, scratch throat, runny nose, stomach cramps, itchy skin etc. See below for possible symptoms.

How much does this cost? Does my health insurance cover this?
A treatment cost is $70 which includes reassessment by our Naturopathic Physician and the BIE treatment. The initial visit to our office is one hour and is $150 which includes extensive testing and treatment. Because you are under the care of a Naturopathic Physician your plan should cover the cost provided you have Naturopathic Medical coverage.
